Mali Palac

Mali Palac — the “Little Palace” — was built in 1887 in the heart of Selca on Brač by self-taught stonemason Ivan Štambuk–Canova, who carved his soul into every detail of the house.
Burned in 1943, it stood waiting.
Now I, the last in the line, am bringing it back to life — stone by stone — for the next hundred years.
Old stone, new stories.

You’re here. Good.

Born in Split ’80, raised on cassettes and engine grease. Learned early how to take things apart and (sometimes) put them back better. In 2023 I moved for good into the 1887 stone house my family built, swapped city chaos for a jungle garden and a leaking roof, and started finishing what was started 138 years ago. I fix things with my hands, cook what the garden gives, and keep stupid far away. This is home.
